Why your town matters for electrical

Long Island is not one market. Nassau and Suffolk have different permit requirements, different housing stock, and different exposure to coastal weather. A electrical install in Long Beach (salt air, flood zone, strict building codes) is a completely different job than one in Smithtown (inland, wooded lots, more flexible permits).

We have done 3200+ homes across both counties since 2011. That means we know which towns require a home improvement contractor license to pull permits, which have historic preservation overlays that limit materials and colors, and which neighborhoods tend to have asbestos electrical underneath the existing vinyl from 1970s renovations.

Nassau County electrical projects

Most of our Nassau jobs are within 15 minutes of our Hempstead shop. The housing stock is dense: Levittown Capes, Garden City colonials, Massapequa ranches, Long Beach bungalows. Typical project size is 1,800 to 2,400 square feet. Nassau County requires HIC licensing through the Department of Consumer Affairs, and inspections are generally straightforward. Coastal towns like Long Beach, Point Lookout, and Atlantic Beach require salt-rated materials and corrosion-resistant fasteners.

Suffolk County electrical projects

Suffolk jobs range from Huntington and Babylon (20 minutes from the shop) to East Northport and Smithtown (30 minutes). Houses tend to be larger: 2,200 to 3,500 square feet. Suffolk County has its own HIC licensing through Consumer Affairs. Some Suffolk towns, particularly waterfront communities in Bay Shore, West Islip, and Islip, need the same coastal-grade treatment as Nassau shore towns. Interior towns like Commack and Deer Park are more standard installs with fewer environmental requirements.

What we bring to every town

Same crew, same quality, regardless of zip code. We carry all 20 of the most common Long Island electrical colors on the truck. We handle permits in every municipality we work in. We know the inspection timelines. And if your town has a homeowner association or architectural review board, we have dealt with those before too.

Ready when you are

Not sure if we cover your town?

If you are on Long Island, we cover you. If you are on the East End, call first - we do the North Shore up to Southold and the South Shore up to Westhampton, but we do not travel past those.

Your phone rings, a licensed electrician answers.
