Frank Calabrese
Third-generation Long Island electrician. NYC Local 3 apprenticeship, IBEW journeyman 2003, master electrician license 2008. Founded Long Island Electric Co. in 2011.

Background
Not a franchise. Not a marketing company that subs out the work. A master electrician who has been doing this his whole life.
How the company started
2003. Frank pins on his IBEW Local 3 journeyman card. The next eight years he's pulling wire in Manhattan highrises — good money, long commute, not much to show a homeowner at the end of the day. His neighbors in Hempstead keep asking if he can look at their panels on the weekend.
Weekend work turns into a waitlist. In 2011 he takes the master electrician exam, passes it the first try, and files LLC paperwork a month later. First shop is a one-bay garage in Hempstead. First van is a used Transit Connect. First hire is his cousin Kevin.
October 2012. Sandy. The South Shore loses power for two weeks in places. Frank and Kevin spend six weeks straight replacing flooded panels in Long Beach, Island Park, Freeport. The reputation builds fast: licensed master electrician, permits pulled, quotes honored. By 2016 the crew is six people. By 2023, it's fourteen and 3200+ jobs done.
The company still runs the same way it did in 2011. Frank still does walk-throughs. Ryan writes the quotes. Donna handles the permits and scheduling. Every electrician on the trucks is a full-time employee, not day labor. And we pull the permit on every job — your neighbor's guy doesn't.
